The song was released on a single of the same name on May 28, 2008. The single peaked at number 33 on the Oricon singles chart.
The TV size version of the song was released on the Vampire Knight Original Soundtrack on June 25, 2008.
A third version, called an "album version", of the song was released on Kanon Wakeshima's album Shinshoku Dolce (侵食ドルチェ, lit. "Sweetness Violation") on February 18, 2009. Usually, the single version is re-released on the album. This version is slightly longer and has a different opening. The limited edition version of the album came with a DVD featuring a music video for the song.

- The performer, Kanon Wakeshima, voiced a maid in Episode 8: Gunshot of Grief.
- Due to the success of this single and Suna no Oshiro, Kanon was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the fourth annual Shōjo Beat Music Awards.
- There are 2 versions of the ending sequence. In the final episode of season 1, instead of Yuki being shown in the mirror, a sneak peek for next episode from season 2 is shown.
